2016 Lecture Series
Power of Place
In celebration of the Power of Place exhibit at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, we would like to invite you to hear from the artists who are present in this year’s show, which includes works by New Mexico’s most celebrated sculptors. The Power of Place will be exiting the Garden’s exhibit on May 15th. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the art and hear from these very important artists.
Northern New Mexico has been a center for the visual arts throughout its history. Its sculptural traditions range from the clay vessels and figures of early Pueblo Indian artists, to the wood carvings of the Spanish settlers, to the figurative and abstract sculptures of contemporary 21st century artists. Santa Fe Botanical Garden’s Power of Place exhibit celebrates the art and artists that carry on the local traditions.
