"Calendar Girls" - UK women's club raises funds (and consciousness) with a calendar featuring members gardening and doing household chores in the buff.
"Enchanted April" - from dreary post WWI London to glorious Amalfi coast with will-bloom English females.
"Greenfingers" - documentary about prisoners in the UK who start a garden and go on to display their flowers at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Clive Owen as inmate and Helen Mirren as horticulture expert.
"Saving Grace" - UK gardener stands to lose her home. She grows and sells an illegal crop. "It takes a village . . . "
"Silent Running" - in a ruined future, huge orbiting spaceships preserve the last remaining trees from pollution and overcrowding on Earth. Botanist Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) receives an order to destroy the trees. He refuses, setting himself against his superiors and fellow crew members.
"The Garden" - documentary about a public garden in south Los Angeles. After years of successful gardening by local residents, city officials sell the land to a developer. The residents stage a protest.
"The Real Dirt on Farmer John" - documentary of how a Midwest farmer became part of a "sustainable" Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm. The neighbors weren't fond of the idea.
"The Secret Garden" - the garden heals. Perfect for Santa Fe as the garden is hidden behind a wall.
"Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit" - the plot thickens as prize veg patches are ravished all over town. Someone must protect the marrows!
