Monthly Free Days for New Mexico Residents & Students

At the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, we strive to benefit all Santa Fe and New Mexico citizens, and our area’s many visitors. As an independent nonprofit, our commitment is to have affordable admission and to provide monthly Community Days free for New Mexico residents and students with ID. Each Community Day is underwritten by a different Business Partner in our community. Their support makes Community Days possible.

Policies & Helpful Information

  • Please bring a New Mexico or student ID to receive free admission.
  • Click here for hours of operation and directions to the Botanical Garden
  • Please stay on designated pathways. The plants in our ecosystem can be very fragile, and do not respond well to footprints.
  • No pets allowed in the Garden except registered service animals. Please be prepared to show proof of registration upon arrival.
  • No smoking, vaping, or use of other tobacco products is allowed in the Garden.
  • The majority of the pathways in the Garden are wheel chair accessible, with the exception of the Art Trail (which has one step). A limited amount of wheel chairs, walkers, and rollators are available on a complimentary basis.
  • For your comfort, we suggest that you bring a hat and screen to protect your skin during your visit to the Garden.
  • We encourage you to bring a water bottle to the Garden. Potable water is available to fill your water bottle. Because sustainability is part of our mission, we do not sell disposable water bottles in our Garden Shop.
  • There are no restrooms with flushing toilets at the Botanical Garden. Portable toilets are available for visitors.
  • SFBG welcomes artists who wish to sketch, paint, or photograph our grounds. Artists must register at the Visitor Services Center and pay the normal admissions fee for use of grounds. Photographs and videos shot must be for private, non-commercial use, except in specific exhibits or areas where photography may not be permitted. Read the full photography policy.
  • In the event of inclement weather, the Botanical Garden will close to the public. Weather closures are posted on our homepage and on our Facebook page. If caught in a storm, please take shelter in the Hendricksen Pavilion, the Welcome Ramada Kiosk, or our Visitor Services Center.
