Join the Santa Fe Botanical Garden on this Ed-Venture to the garden at Arroyo Vino. The on-site garden at Arroyo Vino is one of the most important and unique features of the restaurant. Now two acres in size, with a greenhouse, seven honey bee hives, and a 7,500 gallon rainwater catchment system, the garden provides the majority of our produce in-season. Arroyo Vino seeks out ingredients from farmers and purveyors of quality produce. Their menu is continually changing with the season and is prepared by the kitchen for your dining enjoyment.
About your Guides: Liza Marshall Forrester-Frolkis has been farming all over the country since 2009. She moved to Santa Fe in 2013 from Harrisonburg, Virginia where she was the Assistant Farm Manager at Radical Roots Community Farm. Liza has a background in art and theater. She works as a preschool and yoga teacher. Liza’s favorite thing to grow is salad mix and edible flowers.
Brigid Simone Rhoades is a mother, gardener, and food lover from the Pacific Northwest. She first came to New Mexico in 2013 to take a Permaculture design course and instantly fell in love with the high-desert landscape. She moved to Santa Fe in 2015 where she found a place to nurture her fascination, passion and love of growing sustainable food. She has been farming here for the last two and a half years. Whether it’s her daughter or her plants, Brigid loves watching things grow and is inspired by the inherent struggle and beauty within that process.
Liza and Brigid are owners of Leaf, Petal & Pod Farm LLC which connects consumers with healthy plants, produce, and garden resources.
