Each event in the series combines a vibrant presentation and discussion paired with delectable food and wine. Proceeds from Food for Thought benefit the Santa Fe Botanical Garden’s mission and programs.

Opened in 2009, Restaurant Martin is a favorite of both locals and visitors alike. Rios attended the CIA Hyde Park and Ewald Notter’s Pastry School in Chicago for his formal training. Featuring the award-winning cuisine of Chef Martin Rios, Restaurant Martin offers an outstanding dining experience in one of Santa Fe’s historic adobe homes. Restaurant Martin and Chef Martin’s reputation are well established in the world of fine dining. The restaurant has received many accolades, including nine James Beard Award finalist and semi-finalist nominations for the Best New Restaurant in the US award and the Best Chef of the Southwest award. Chef and the restaurant have been featured in the following television shows: “Moveable Feast,” “Iron Chef America,” “Beat Bobby Flay,” “The Great Food Truck Race,” and “United Tastes of America.” Prior to opening his own restaurant Chef Martin held a number of executive chef positions including Geronimo Restaurant, Inn of The Anasazi, a Rosewood Hotel, and The Old House Restaurant, all in Santa Fe. Chef Rios and his cuisine have been featured at multiple James Beard Celebrity Chef Dinners, The James Beard Award ceremony, Puerta Vallarta Culinary Festival, Epcot Culinary Festival, Taste of Vail, The James Beard House, Ocean Reef Club, and The Lanesborough Hotel in London. The “Restaurant Martin” Cookbook was released in 2016.
