Join Kaitlin Haase to learn about the fuzzy giants of the bee world, bumble bees! Kaitlin will present about the unique lives of bumble bees, the diversity of species that live in New Mexico, and ways you can get involved to protect bumble bees. After the presentation, Kaitlin will lead a walk through the gardens to identify and observe active bumble bees and demonstrate how to submit sightings to the community science project Bumble Bee Watch.

Kaitlin Haase, Southwest Pollinator Conservation Specialist with the Xerces Society, works to create connected, climate-resilient habitat in Santa Fe and communities across the Southwest. She collaborates with and educates public and private urban land managers in New Mexico and the desert Southwest on pollinator-friendly practices for landscaping, gardening, and open space restoration.
