Weekly tending to the vegetable beds in the Ojos y Manos: Eyes and Hands agricultural terraces continues all summer long. The middle and high school interns have so far harvested radishes, carrots, salad green including spinach, mustard greens, arugula and lettuce. Cherries were the first of the fruit from the Goede Family Orchard also harvested and coming soon in the next few weeks they should have apples, pears, and peaches.

Our interns also are assisted now by the New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps once a week in the garden. They have helped by building trellises, harvesting greens and delivering donations to Kitchen Angels.

Some of the plants such as cilantro and arugula are left to go to seed and the interns began a seed saving project which they will report on in the months to come.

Thank you to all the students and Youth Conservation Corps crew members!
